Tribute from Dr. Mukhisa Kituyi, EGH, PhD

I have been requested by the Kagai family to write a tribute on behalf of the professional and business colleagues associated with this family, and I take this great honor and privilege with utmost humility as we lay to rest our dearest mom who inculcated rare values in her children, friends and colleagues in her line of family and professional duty.

Mary witù says it all.

Every one she interacted with wanted to be associated with her. As His Excellency Mwai Kibaki mentioned in his tribute, Mary demonstrated rare wisdom and perfect timing; a value combination I can assure you the professional and business colleagues I represent here struggle with every day.

She knew when to take a break from her career for the bigger good of honing her children and stabilising her home and also knew when to resume her duties as a registered nurse and midwife for the greater good for God and Country. Indeed a rare show of patriotism.

We are reminded in the Holy Bible, in the book of Jeremiah, chapter 17 , verse 10 and it reads:

“I the Lord search the heart and test the mind, to give every man according to his ways, according to the fruit of his deeds.”

There is no clearer manifestation that God did search Mary’s heart and tested her mind. And eventually rewarded her with a solid legacy, a loving family and a fruitful 77 years of good health and prosperity.

We do thank God most sincerely for her life and her impact in society.

I therefore kindly request, this congregation gathered here in Sagana today, to accept, on behalf of the professionals and business colleagues associated with this family, our highest assurances and condolences.

May Our Dear Lord Rest Mary Eternally in Peace!!
